University Champions

University Champions strive to reconnect with fellow alumni and embrace Lenoir-Rhyne as their home.
University Champions was founded in 2008 to create bridges with alumni, connect with those who have lost touch with the university, encourage fellow alumni to attend events and all at the same time find a way to increase giving to The Fund for Lenoir-Rhyne.
During the past two years members have developed new programs connecting young alumni to campus through events and mailings and creating a track system so that members can choose a particular area to be involved in during the academic year.
Working Tracks
Lenoir-Rhyne University is a part of the Lutheran church with that said we welcome students from any faith to come and receive a wonderful education. Throughout the history of the university local churches have played a major role in our recruiting and retention of students. As Champions we have a unique opportunity to assist the admissions effort in our local churches. This track would give you the chance to spread the word about LRU to youth groups, church congregations and friends.
While you are a student at LRU many life decisions are made and one of the most important is choosing a major and what you will do with said major upon graduation. As a University Champion you have the privilege of serving the student body as a mentor in your field of work and/or study. As a mentor your name will be provided to the career services center as well to the office of Alumni Relations to be available if students are looking for some answers about a major and/or profession.
One of the most important roles a Champion or alumni can play is the one of a steward. We are fortunate to have many wonderful alumni who give generously of their time and treasures to the university. This track will enable members to say the important thing a person can hear, "Thank You."
Alumni Giving Outreach calls upon alumni and/or university employees who are former leaders, advisors or members of student organizations and asks them to reach out to former members of their organization on the subject of giving back to Lenoir-Rhyne. These leaders will be recognized as University Champions and will play an integral role in the success of this effort.
We are asking alumni and friends to participate in a Connect Four Campaign, which asks former students to contact four of their alumni friends about making a gift to support Lenoir-Rhyne. Alumni Giving Outreach is an effort to target and expand Connect Four, we are asking alumni start your focus on groups and organizations that alumni hold dear.
